Let it snow!

Filed under: Daily Messages — Mr Handisyde @ 7:58 am

How beautiful was it to wake up to the snow this morning? It took me longer than normal to cycle to work through the snow, but it really got me in the mood for Christmas and the holiday. Today we have a non-uniform day and we are celebrating the end of term with parties this afternoon. Tomorrow we have our last achievement assembly (09:00 - 09:40) and we will combine this with an end of term celebration. Our choir will also perform and everyone from our school community is warmly invited to come and share this time with us. Hope to see you then.

Yes we’re now starting the final week of term and as summer holidays have become a distant memories, we are now almost at our Christmas holiday season. Hope that you all have something excited planned and use the time to relax with family and friends.

My Charity Challenge was faced on Friday last week and towards the end of this week, all families will receive their copy of this month’s newsletter - including photos of this event! Today you will all receive notification of what activities I have been able to arrange for you to join in our Spring Term Extra Curricular Activities. On Thursday this week we have our end of term parties, please check for information you will receive today on what the arrangements are for this.

Enjoy our last week!

Put on your shoes and get ready for the weekend!

Filed under: Daily Messages — Mr Handisyde @ 7:47 am

Morning all!

We’re at the end of another busy weekand I’m sure we’re all looking forward to the weekend. I expect it will be a busy weekend as most of us will be busy Christmas shopping (and watching the Strictly semi final!). One week to go until we can all have a very well deserved rest.

Sadly it’s goodbye and good luck to Alice and Lupold who are leaving today and moving to Brussells. Remember us here in Amsterdam and keep in touch.

Thursday 10th December

Filed under: Daily Messages — Mr Handisyde @ 7:56 am

Morning everyone!

After all the excitement of the Year 4 and 5 Christmas Production, yesterday we settled back into the last few days of learning before the Christmas break. In Year 5, the corridor smelt of freshly baked biscuits, as the children designed their own as part of their DT topic, and in Year 4 children sepaated solids from cup-a-soups!  Thank you for all of the work and support that went into making it such a great show - costumes and props are now being put away, so parents who leant items should receive them back soon!

Lots of club request forms have now come in, and Mr Handisyde is busy sorting out the groupd for next term - any last minute forms must be in at reception after morning registration today. Next week, you will receive details of which clubs you will be attending in January. Next week we will also be holding Class Chritsmas Parties on Thursday afternoon - look out for a letter tomorrow with details about this.

Have a good  day!

Congratulations!

Filed under: Daily Messages — Mr Handisyde @ 7:55 am

In the words of Sir Cliff….”CONGRATULATIONS!” to all in Year 4 and 5 on another wonderful performance last night. The audience loved you all and I for one am very proud of all the children and staff who worked so hard to make the production such a success… well done and THANK YOU all!

Please remember that spring term extra curricular activity request forms are due to be handed to me this morning. If you haven’t returned your form but want to take part in the after school programme next term, please come and see me in the office this morning. Some clubs are currently undersubscribed and I will decide by lunchtime which will be viable, amalgamated or cancelled. Don’t miss your chance to get involved in the great activities happening after school by your teachers and external providers!
