Once again we’re reaching another milestone - a round thousand.

Remember, if you’re person 5000 - press Print Screen - or “PrtScn” if you have a Windows PC - ask Dylan if you have an Apple Mac (He won the prise for 4000!)

Print or email it to me as proof !

Memory Sticks

June 5th, 2008

Dear 3C’s Parents

As you will now know, all of the children in 3C were given a memory stick today - This is so they can bring in photos, film clips and such for their video work in class, lots of which we hope to show in our assembly next week.
Unfortunately there is a small piece of software on the memory stick which is not necessary and doesn’t work with our school network, I ask that you delete this off the memory stick. It would be useful if they were labeled with their names and Class 3C in case they are misplaced.

Video Ideas

June 3rd, 2008

Remember, if you need a blank Digital Video (DV) tape, I have a stock for you, to save you having to bring one in.  Well done to Helena for already bringing her ideas into school :-)

What is…….

June 3rd, 2008

Think about our literacy work today.  Your ideas were fantastic but now we need to share them with a wider audience.

What comes into your mind when you think about

RED   YELLOW   BLUE   GREEN   ORANGE   PINK   PURPLE   BLACK or WHITE?

Share those ideas and ask for help with others!

Someone sent me an email!

May 27th, 2008

I’ve just been checking me email at home and found a chain letter from one of my friends. It was one of those “you know you’re old when….”emails but I got to the end and this bit make me curious.

OK, you need to look at this, don’t think too much, don’t try to hard but DO try to read it. Can you? Let me know how you got on!

Well, how did you get on? Of course, don’t use this as an explaination of your literacy work :-)

Quick Question,

May 24th, 2008

If you were to spell out numbers from 1 upwards in words, how far would you have to go until you would find the letter “A”?

Hope it’s going well

May 22nd, 2008

Hi there, 3C.
I hope that all is going well and Mr Mullally is working you hard! We’re having a great time here at camp, it’s warm and sunny, there’s no mosquitos to bite me, even the Year 4 children in my house are well behaved!

Later today we’re off to the swimming pool and to the Beach - for some swimming and fun!

Egyptian Research

May 13th, 2008

As promised, some links for your Egyptians research.

The BBC’s Ancient Egypt website
http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ancient/egyptians/

The British Museum’s Ancient Egypt website
http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/menu.html

http://www.historyforkids.org/learn/egypt/

http://www.ancient-egypt.org/

These are just a few of the websites to start your research going. Remember to surf carefully, think about the information you are reading and try to put it into your own words.

One last thing, www.wikipedia.org is a great link for searching for information that other people have published on the web. I find it the best for finding pictures, maps and photographs about a subject!

If you are stuck - post a comment, perhaps someone else can help!

Other children making films!

April 22nd, 2008

http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/meandmymovie/index.shtml

Found this great collection of films, made by children, on the BBC website - Click on the WATCH option on the left and it takes you to a library of films made by children.

Have a look - write down the names (or comment) of the ones you like and we can look at them in class with our critical eyes!
