Filed under Topic | Comments (3)Zuiderzee Snaps!
Here are just a few of Class3C’s photos from our fantastic visit to the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen. There will be more on display in our classroom soon, along with some writing about our visit. (I shall save you the experience of the photo of ME in traditional dutch costume by myself, so the last photo is of some beautiful ships!!!!)
Filed under General | Comments (4)Poetry Please!
We have been busy writing caligrams, shape poems and descriptive food poems in our Literacy work recently.
Caligrams are words that are written to give an extra idea to the meaning of the word.
These are firework poems that were presented in Publisher. It was quite tricky to rotate the text and make our poems look exactly as we wanted.

Hello Parents,
I’m beginning to get a bit worried… So far I have only two offers of help for our visit. Can you please let me know if you are available to help with our visit to Zuiderzee on Wednesday - either make a comment here - I will get to see it tonight, or let me know in the morning (Tuesday!!)
Mr Chapman!
Filed under General | Comment (0)Delicious Drinks?
Today we were busy drinking lots of different juices and drinks from bottles and cartons!
We were sampling eight different drinks. Thinking if they were healthy or unhealthy. Some of the drinks were very nice! Some were not so nice!
Chocomelk, orange juice and “Sport drink” were on offer!
This is part of our Design and Technology work, as well as being a part of our science work about Teeth and Healthy Eating. We enjoyed this lesson!
Which drink would you like? Look at our poll at the side of this page and vote!
Filed under General | Comment (1)Library Loans
First visit to the library as 3C went well today! Don’t forget you can sign out library books from the Fiction and Non-Fiction libraries yourselves. Before register is a great time to do it as there are plenty of people around to help you if you need.
Remember -
Scan the barcode in the book.
Put in the first letter of your Last Name
Put your left thumb firmly on the thumb scanner
Postcodes Please!
Today we tried to find our streets on a map and on the internet using www.kaart.nl or a map search in www.google.co.uk BUT without our post code from our address it was almost impossible!!!
SO, can we please, Please, PLEASE write down our postcode for home and bring it into school!
Filed under General | Comment (0)Games on Thursdays!
Just a quick message, and a reminder to the children -
On Thursdays (Until the half term break in October) we go to the field near the Upper School for our Outdoor Games Lesson.
Less urgent to note is swimming - which will be on Tuesday but NOT until February! Reminders will be given at the time!
Filed under General | Comment (0)One Day Down
We have survived the first day and I’m looking forward to seeing the class again tomorrow.Â
Don’t forget to remember your street name and Post Code for our work! :-)
Filed under General | Comment (0)Amsterdam in the Past
Our first topic in Year 3 is about Amsterdam in the past. We will be looking at maps and thinking how the Amsterdam, North Holland and The Netherlands have changed over time.
This morning were looking at where we live now. www.kaart.nl is a very easy map website to use. Can you find your street by putting in your postcode into the small box at the top?
