Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for all your kind words and gifts. I really feel spoiled with such a generous collection from the parents and enjoyed a bit of a spending spree on Saturday. I plan to buy something I can keep and remember my years at Jan van Eijckstraat and as soon as I’ve made a decision, I’ll be sure to let you all know what I’ve spent the money on.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer holiday,

Mr Handisyde.

We’re thinking healthy, healthy, healthy at the Junior School today as we’re off to a great start with sharing a healthy breakfast together. Later today Year 3 will be celebrating the end of their history topic about life in ancient Egypt with an Egyptian feast…is everyone dressed up again this year?

We are now in our last week of the academic year and are busy finishing off things and making sure that we are all ready to transfer to our new year group in September or for some of us our new school. Mr Cooney, Miss Jackson and Mrs Cairns have already begun the process of moving as their classrooms are being taken down already…. I mean literally! The roof has already been taken off and the walls are coming down next!

A little quiz for those of you who’ve been at the school for some years….. do you remember what is painted on the wall behind the annexe classrooms?

After a busy week our exhibition is over.  The collection of work from years 2, 3 and 4 has been stunning.  The huge batiks from Year 3 and the splendid mosaics from Year 4 have provided a great back-drop also.

If you didn’t get the chance to see the exhibition we hope that these photos will be of some consolation.  If you DID get to the exhibition what was your favourite part?

Conditions at the Olympic Stadium are not good and we are definitely not able to use the field and at this point it is uncertain we can even access the track! With the rain all through the night and showers forecast today, we have taken the decision to CANCEL our Sports day planned for this morning. We are unable to reschedule next week due to other activities throughout the school. To avoid disappointment next academic year we plan to have Sports Day earlier in the last half of the summer term which will give us more flexibility to reschedule if necessary.

Morning Bloggers,

So good to see so many people at last night’s parent evenings and so encouraging to see so many proud, beaming faces looking at our exhibition. If you haven’t visited our exhibition already, don’t miss the opportunity! Please remember our last parent evening is today at 16.00-18.00

A decision will be made later today as to whether our Sports Day planned for tomorrow morning will go ahead. This is obviously weather permitting and the condition of the track and field at the Olympic Stadium. Please check this weblog later for an update.

The Junior School Hall has been transformed into an amazing display of work and pictures from this academic year. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who worked hard to bring the exhibition together and well done to everyone whose work is on display. The exhibition is open all this week and I hope people spend as much time as possible looking at the work, trying out the activities and generally joining the Junior school team in celebrating the successes and achievements from this year.

Remember Year 3 and 4 will be visiting the Upper school on Wednesday morning, we have Sports Day on Thursday and there are Parent Evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

It’s almost time for our annual exhibition and the poster advertising it with the Year 2 William Morris inspired art work looks great! The batiks and mosaics created recently by Year 3 and 4 will also feature in the exhibition along with a selection of work from throughout the academic year. If any parents are willing to help set up tomorrow afternoon or Friday during the day, please see Mrs Cairns. Exhibition opens next Monday at 08.00.
